Our Witch Hazel Hydrosol, also known as Witch Hazel Distillate, is meticulously crafted through the steam distillation of Witch Hazel leaves and stems. It features a delicate herbaceous fragrance with subtle floral and fruity notes. Notably, Witch Hazel Hydrosol contains 5% to 12% tannins, flavonoids, and catechins, harnessing their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and astringent properties. Hamamelitannin and hamamelose, powerful anti-inflammatories and astringents, join forces with proanthocyanins, antioxidants surpassing Vitamin C by 20 times and Vitamin E by 50 times. Gallic acid, a flavonoid, contributes to wound healing and exhibits anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities.
Designed for all skin types, the proanthocyanins play a crucial role in stabilizing collagen and elastin, serving as potent antioxidants. Meanwhile, other constituents address inflammation. In formulations for cellulite or varicose veins, Witch Hazel Hydrosol, with its venous constrictor properties, reduces tissue swelling while imparting a cooling sensation. It is also effective in reducing eye swelling in products such as gels.
For those with oily hair and skin types, Witch Hazel Hydrosol proves to be an excellent addition at concentrations of up to 20% in cleansers, toners, gels, and moisturizers. Its astringent and anti-inflammatory properties work synergistically to reduce redness.
