BTMS-50 is a pastille-form conditioning agent and cationic emulsifier, comprising 50% active Behenyl (C22) quaternary content. This product, free from ethoxylated ingredients, is provided in a volatile-free form with the highest achievable activity. Serving as an enhanced version of Lotioncrafter BTMS, BTMS-50 contains a reduced amount of fatty alcohol, allowing for customizable conditioning performance by adjusting the quat:fatty alcohol ratio.
Derived from the natural plant oil Colza, Behentrimonium Methosulfate is a quaternary ammonium salt that functions as both a gentle primary emulsifier and an excellent conditioning agent. It contributes to the creation of sophisticated cationic emulsions for skin and hair care products, which exhibit resistance to wash-off, leaving a soft, powdery feel on the skin and imparting excellent detangling properties to hair conditioners. In hair care formulations, it enhances wet combing, providing noticeable body and spring to the hair. Its exceptional mildness makes it suitable for leave-in conditioners. Additionally, BTMS-50 can serve as a co-emulsifier with Polawax, incorporating its conditioning properties into emulsions.

Reacts with anionic surfactants by forming electro-neutral salts. These are soluble in water but stable solutions and can be obtained by using an excess of an anionic compound.
