Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride CCT 60/40 MB is a product formed through the esterification process of glycerol with specific medium chain fatty acids. These medium chain fatty acids consist of carbon chains primarily ranging from 8 to 10 atoms in length and are devoid of double bonds that are susceptible to oxidation. These fatty acids are extracted from palm oil through a combination of hydrolysis and distillation and are subsequently esterified with glycerol, resulting in a stable, liquid substance at room temperature.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride CCT 60/40 MB is characterized by its light texture, remarkable clarity, lack of odor, non-staining properties, and a non-greasy nature. Moreover, it has an exceptionally long shelf life. This versatile liquid oil is readily absorbed by the skin, making it an ideal carrier oil for both massage and essential oils. It possesses the lightness required for convenient use in pump sprayers. Its inherent stability renders it an excellent emollient in lotions and creams.
In contrast to regular coconut or palm oil, which contains numerous long chain fatty acids (triglycerides) and is solid at room temperature, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride CCT 60/40 MB provides a reliable alternative. It can replace some of the more delicate vegetable oils prone to rancidity and some of the costlier carrier oils, helping to maintain product quality while managing expenses.
